Opinion Unremarkable but worth doing. It's a nice enough hike for dull weather, even though the view was largely obscured due to rain today. Steeper with more elevation gain than I expected too. One big plus was that it was quiet; we saw only a few people. Fact We parked at the Baden-Powell western trailhead … Continue reading West Knob, 9 Sep 2018

Opinion Exactly as I remembered, the section from Lynn Headwaters to Mosquito Creek is pleasant (especially for a North Shore hike) while the rest of the way to Grouse is dismal, dingy, and a rock-and-root mess of a trail. However, given our lack of fitness right now it was easier to continue on to Grouse … Continue reading Baden-Powell Trail, 27 Feb 2016

And looking at the map, I realized that the only stretch I hadn't hiked was really just the couple of km of suburban wanderings between Cleveland … Continue reading Baden-Powell Trail, 24 Mar 2014

A selection of quieter, atmospheric images taken on my bike rides into work during January. Nothing spectacular but they all speak to me in some way.
A starry Saturday night on Mount Seymour. An afternoon hike saw us catching a hazy sunset from the summit and then being entranced by the stars and planets on show as we made our way back down. We paused awhile at Brockton Point to trace the constellations and take some photos, the best of which is shown here. Or at least part of it: swipe for a different part of the scene and the full photo.
It's all a matter of perspective...
Eight days in the South Chilcotin mountains - part 2. If you want to read more and see more photos, the link to my summary blog post is in my bio.
It's taken me months but I've finally written up the summary of our superb week of backpacking in the South Chilcotin mountains - link in bio.
