Vignette: Lynn Canyon, 31 Jan 2023

My job takes me to North Vancouver twice a year and, after completing the task at hand, I like to venture into one of the nearby parks to soak up a bit of rainforest atmosphere before heading back to work. In the past I've visited Mosquito Creek and Capilano Canyon, while today I opted for … Continue reading Vignette: Lynn Canyon, 31 Jan 2023

Opinion: When you have only two hours of parking and need something easy to stretch your legs, the trails in Lynn Headwaters regional park are a great option. FactTo our amazement, the parking at … Continue reading Seymour River and Lynn Creek Loop, 17 Jan 2021

The light was perfect, the forest green was soothing, and the woodland flowers were blooming … Continue reading Norvan Falls, 2 Jun 2018

Looking forward to the summer hiking season and following the lifecycle of my favourite flowers, such as Western anemone, from pushing up through the snow to its fluffy finale.
Mountain reflections - a handful of nice views from 2022 seen in the South Chilcotins and the Canadian Rockies.
Those brief moments of golden sunshine make the hike all the more worthwhile.
Last weekend was a long weekend (at least for some of us) and of course the weather lived up to its reputation, giving us a sunny day on Tuesday. But there was a short window of fine weather on Saturday afternoon and we made a beeline for Hollyburn Mountain to catch the views.
A selection of recent beach scenes that make me glad to live by the sea, all taken within the past week.
Happy Mountain Monday! A selection of mountain photos from our trip to Garibaldi Lake a few weeks ago.
